We are the prime contractor of this project located along El Mirage Road beginning at the intersection of Bell Road running north 3.78 miles to Deer Valley Access Road. Consisting of new asphalt pavement, roadway widening along Bell Road, El Mirage Road, Deer Valley Road, extension of the existing multiple cell box culvert at the north side of the Bell Road intersection, construction of two new culverts for McMicken Wash, and traffic signal work.
We were prime contractor for this Prescott Valley project that involved building the first phase of a 10 mile, concrete multi use path for the Town of Prescott Valley to connect the town’s landmarks. This phase connects the middle school and high school with the town hall and town library. It included the installation of a pedestrian bridge that crosses over a channel to where future commercial sites are designated to be. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act helped pay for this segment of the pathway.
- Extreme weather conditions made this project challenging but it didn’t stop us, we forged ahead and still were able to complete this project within the contracted time frame.
We were the prime contractor for the road widening and improvements on Bullard Avenue between Bell Road and Paradise Lane in Surprise, AZ. This project included the installation of a landscaped median, the extension of a reclaimed waterline, and modification of the traffic signal.
- Bullard Avenue is the entrance to Surprise Stadium…the Spring Training Home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals.
Golden Eagle Park
Golden Eagle Blvd & Palisades
Fountain Hills, AZ
We were the General Contractor for construction of this 25 acre community park. The park included baseball fields, ramadas, dugouts, soccer fields, lighting and landscaping. As this park was developed around an existing residential area, we were actively involved in assuring that the needs and questions of the local residents were addressed in a timely manner.

Cincinatti Reds Training Complex
Estrella Pkwy & Wood Blvd
The Cincinnati Reds Spring Training Complex required precise contouring of full size baseball fields and two half size fields. By using our GPS equipment controls in conjunction with the engineering CAD files we were able to reduce the general contractor’s survey costs while maintaining high levels of accuracy. Due to the critical time constraints on the project it was important that we coordinated construction of the parking lot to allow continued clubhouse construction, coordinated deliveries and provided unobstructed access for other trades at all times.
The Spring Training Ballpark Complex was completed February 2009.
The ballpark is located on a 3 acre parcel.
The Cleveland Indians will be joined by the Cincinnati Reds in 2010.
Each team gets 2 practice fields for their own use year round, while the other eight are for residential use in months when spring training is not active.
Cardinal’s Stadium University of Phoenix
9301 W. Maryland
Construction of the Cardinal’s Stadium started with an extremely tight schedule that many earthmoving and paving contractors told the general contractor “couldn’t be done “. We took the challenge of the expedited schedule and moved 190,000 cy of dirt, placed 71,700 tons of asphalt and 159,000 tons of ABC. Working multiple shifts 7 days a week, we finished our scope of construction and turned the project over early to the general contractor, exceeding their expectations.
- Home of the Arizona Cardinal’s.
- Groundbreaking was held on April 12, 2003.
- Unique design with a retractable roof and roll out field to accommodate many types of events.
Bell Road Improvements
Bell Road – Grand Avenue to Loop 303
These improvements were awarded in multiple phases of construction consisting of several miles along Bell Road west of Grand Avenue to Loop 303. Markham was prime contractor self performing 90% of the work. We provided alternative traffic control ideas to minimize business traffic interruptions and completed 50% ahead of schedule. Coordination with the Railroad, ADOT, and City of Surprise was key to our early completion.
- Multi phase construction.
- Main thoroughfare into West Valley.
