La Cholla Boulevard, Magee Road to Overton Road

Description: This project improved safety, mobility, ADA access, and aesthetics by widening the existing two-lane roadway (1.7 miles) to a four-lane desert parkway with bicycle and turn lanes, multi-use pathways, sidewalks, culvert and storm drain facilities, and two six-span bridge structures (600 feet) over the Canada del Oro (CDO) Wash.  Artistic features were integrated into the bridge parapet and railing, retaining walls, and rock rip rap slopes.  Prior to the bridge placement, large rain events flooded the CDO Wash and closed La Cholla Boulevard causing long delays with detour routes.
